Wanna buy a cool car? Got £800,000 to spare? Then set your eyes on this...

McLaren Automotive has launched its ultimate supercar, named the McLaren P1 Supercar. This car was previewed as a design study at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, known as the Mondial de l’Automobile, held in September. The production vehicle of the McLaren P1 Supercar will be released sometime in 2013, after which the car will be put on sale. It is expected to take about 12 months for the car to reach retail showrooms.

With the McLaren P1 supercar, McLaren aims to produce the best driver car on road and track, in the whole world. Two decades ago in 1992, McLaren Automotive launched the McLaren F1 supercar, which raised the performance bar of supercars, worldwide. This car set the world land-speed record for a production car, and led to the McLaren F1 car being considered an iconic sports car of modern times.

The McLaren P1 ‘ultimate supercar’ is meant to be the fastest and most satisfying ‘series production road car’ on a circuit, but this does not mean that it will be the quickest in ‘absolute top speed’. McLaren has not yet released information about the specifications of their P1 supercar, however, they’ve said that it will be better than that of the McLaren 12C car, and the 2013 Mclaren MP4-12C Spider, in terms of performance. The McLaren P1 car will be priced at £800,000.
