Luxury Tree Houses For Pet Cats

Check out these luxury tree houses for pet cats. Cats love to climb trees, and are even known to climb up Christmas trees, without any regard for the carefully put up decorations. Now, Pet Tree Houses, a company that manufactures indoor natural habitats for cats, has developed a unique luxury tree house for active indoor cats.

Luxury tree house for pet cats

Each feline tree house has been handcrafted from real trees, with each taking about 1,000 individual cuts to make. Some of the luxury tree houses for cats which are made by this company are the Mature Tree house, the Sycamore tree house, the Deluxe Seedling, and the Sapling tree house.

Features of the Mature Tree house for Cats

Each Mature Tree house is made from a combination of cedar and wood. The leaves on the tree above the little cat-house are made from synthetic silk, and the home also has plush carpeting for cats that love luxury.

There are stands at different levels with sand in them. Cats can use this as a litter box, and they are easy to clean. The total height of the luxury Mature Tree house is seven feet, which is great for indoor home cats to play in their natural environment, without fear of being attacked by dogs or feral cats.

The price of the Mature Tree House starts from US $1,299. The cost is a bit expensive, but nothing compared to what you would have to pay if your cat destroyed your expensive furniture and upholstery, while climbing around your house. All these cat house trees are indoor trees, meant to be used inside your house only, and are guaranteed for life.

What do you think of this luxury tree house for pet cats? Would you like one for your kitty?

Roentgen Luxury Furniture - Art Pieces Owned By French Royalty

The rich love Roentgen luxury furniture. The Roentgen style of furniture was developed by Abraham Roentgen (the cabinet maker to Queen Marie-Antoinette of France), and German Ébéniste who established the Roentgen furniture manufactory, which became one of the most famous furniture manufacturing units in Europe.

An exquisite Roentgen furniture piece with a clock

Abraham Roentgen was renowned for the wonderful pieces of ornate luxury furniture he created. This Roentgen luxury furniture usually had features such as marquetry work, innovative mechanical fittings, hidden drawers and interesting use of inlays. Together with his son David Roentgen, Abraham Roentgen designed thousands of unique pieces of luxury furniture in the 18th century, which was picked up by the rich aristocrats of Europe. This included Louis XVI of France, King Frederick William II of Prussia, Catherine the Great of Russia, and sundry German princes and nobles.

In October 2012, an exhibition of the Roentgen’s luxury furniture was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, called ‘The Princely Furniture of the Roentgens’ Exhibition’. Here are details about some gorgeous furniture pieces that were displayed at this exhibition:

The Roentgen writing desk with hidden drawers and compartments

Writing Desk: This writing desk was made by Abraham Roentgen from 1758-62, during the prime of his career. The exterior of this luxury table depicts village landscapes or intricate architectural interiors. Inside the luxury desk are hidden drawers and secret compartments. This includes a secret niche in the tabernacle, for storing religious items.

The Roentgen Marie Antoinette music box

Music Box: This music box was designed by David Roentgen for Queen Marie Antoinette of France. On the top of the music box is a mechanical figure of Marie Antoinette that plays Gluck melodies on a Dulcimer.

Roentgen desk for viewing maps and charts

Roentgen Shape Shifting Rolltop Desk: This is one of the most famous pieces of Roentgen luxury furniture, and would cost a fortune if it was put up for auction. It also has a few hidden drawers.

Well, this is how the European royals used to live in the 18th century. What do you think of these beautiful pieces of Roentgen luxury furniture? What would you hide in the hidden secret drawers of such desks and tables, if you had one?

Brad Pitt’s Furniture Line With Frank Pollaro

Brad Pitt is now designing tables, chairs and beds. Hollywood celebrity Brad Pitt has partnered with Frank Pollaro (a New Jersey based furniture design company), to launch a line of high-end luxury furniture. These tables, beds and chairs include a long glass topped dining table and a large Art-Deco bed.

Brad Pitt has always showed an interest in architecture and design, and is the narrator for the PBS TV show Design e2. This series shows his ‘Make It Right Foundation’, enlisting prominent architects to build good affordable housing in post-Katrina New Orleans.

Items in Brad Pitt's Furniture Line

With the launch of this furniture line, Brad Pitt will be fulfilling his long time dream of designing furniture. In his debut as furniture designer, the Hollywood star has teamed up with Frank Pollaro, a furniture design company that specialises in the Art Décor style of furniture. Brad Pitt’s collection of home furniture includes a dozen furniture pieces, comprising chairs, tables and an Art Deco-styled bed.

In fact, the Art Deco-styled bed was the first piece in the furniture line, which Brad Pitt and Frank Pollaro worked on together. The bed has a frame made from the best quality of glossy tropical-hardwood, together with refinements such as nickel trusses for firmly supporting the king-size mattress, shagreen foot pads, and trendy nickel side tables with silk-under-glass tops. This bed took about two years to craft.

Other furniture pieces in Brad Pitt’s furniture line include:
  • An elegant 17-foot-long dining table.
  • A stylish cocktail table.
  • A few side tables
  • A small number of club chairs
  • A bathtub for two that has been made in Statuario Venato Marble.
A large number of the furniture pieces in Brad Pitt’s furniture line features the idea of a ‘geometric single line’. The wood dining table is a good example of this, and its case has a jagged base which zigzags at unexpected angles. In addition, the glass-top side table shows off a wispy spiral metal base, which has been carefully finished in 24 karat gold.

All pieces of furniture in Brad Pitt’s furniture line are limited-edition pieces, and will be autographed by both Brad Pitt and Frank Pollaro, as a mark of their authenticity. Buyers can have them customised in a range of fine materials and finishes.

Brad Pitt’s furniture line will be showcased at a special event in New York, from November 13th-15th, during which information about the prices will be given. These prices are expected to be towards the highest end of the scale for custom furniture.

Gold and Diamond Sink – Most Expensive Sink In The World

The things they invent these days. I was surprised to hear that a bathroom sink made of pure gold and diamonds is on sale. Priced at $80,000, this gold and diamond washbasin is believed to be the most expensive sink in the world. Imagine washing your hands in such a bathroom sink…who would buy such a thing?

This luxury bathroom sink has been designed by the ‘Luxury Edition and Gallery’ (or LEandG), a Stockholm based design firm. This firm has developed a reputation for creating a wide range of expensive luxury home-interior items, which include washbasins, showers, furniture, bathtubs and other unique household products. These high-end home accessories usually find their way into the homes of some of the richest billionaires in the world.

Features Of The Gold Washbasin

Named ‘Blido’, the gold washbasin crafted by ‘Luxury Edition and Gallery’, is actually made from aluminium, with a covering of 24 carat gold, and a few diamonds in a circular pattern, studded on its exterior (If the diamonds were on the interior, there were strong chances of them getting unstuck, and being washed down the drain...now, who would want that?)

  • It weighs 23 kilograms.
  • Hand cast aluminum used in the manufacture of the gold sink.
  • It has one brilliantly cut 2.00 carat diamond, together with eight 0.25 carat brilliantly cut diamonds.

In addition to the diamond and gold bathroom sink priced at US $80,000, Luxury Edition and Gallery also allows clients to specify customised washbasins made from other materials. Clients can choose their own design, and decide if they want gem-stones like rubies, diamonds, emeralds or sapphires studded on the exterior of sinks made from either white gold, yellow gold or even platinum.

What do you think about this gold and diamond washbasin? Would you ever consider having such a sink in your bathroom (even a fake gold and diamond sink?) or is it simply too jazzy?

Taj Mahal Table – World’s Most Expensive Memento

Priced at a staggering US $45,450, an upside-down Taj Mahal shaped table has become the most expensive memento in the world. Crafted by leading Belgium-based design firm Studio Job, the upside-down Taj Mahal table has been described by experts as an exemplary work of art, which combines innovation with tradition.

The Taj Mahal is a beautiful white-marble mausoleum in the city of Agra, in India, which has been widely recognised as one of the seven wonders of the modern world. Commissioned by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal has been noted for its architectural splendour, and has inspired artists and architects all over the world.

The exquisite Taj Mahal table created by Studio Job was unveiled at Art Basel Miami 2012. It takes inspiration to a new level, with a unique upside-down version of the Taj Mahal made from iconic bronze, with sparkling gilted domes.

It has been reportedly built according to the same architectural principles as the original white-marble Taj Mahal, except for a few changes to make it inverted. This limited edition Taj Mahal table costs a huge €36,000 (or US $45,455), and is believed to be the most expensive memento in the world. There are only eight pieces of this Taj Mahal table, which are all expected to be picked up by affluent millionaires for their luxurious homes.
