Inish Turk Beg Island in Ireland Listed for £2.85 Million

Check out this Irish private island called the ‘Inish Turk Beg Island’, which was listed for sale in September 2012. The owner is Nadim Sadek, an Irish-Egyptian businessman, who suffered various financial problems, and has been forced to sell it at a much lower price (£2.85 Million or US $4.64 Million) than its current market value.

Inish Turk Beg Island is a private island situated in Clew Bay, off the western coast of Ireland. It is the highest and largest island in Clew Bay, and offers extraordinary views of the bay, the skies and the mainland faraway. Inish Turk Beg Island is also known as the ‘small island of the wild boar’. It was undergoing extensive property re-development work, worth millions of dollars, when Nadim Sadek decided to sell it.

While businessman Nadim Sadek, the current owner, has spent a huge sum to turn this private island into a luxurious haven, he is selling it for just $4.64 million, which is much less than its estimated real estate value. The Inish Turk Beg Island is spread over an area of 65 acres, and is located off Country Mayo in Ireland, amidst about 360 other islands in Clew Bay. It has one luxurious home, four other small properties, stables for horses, and other premier facilities which include:
  • An enclosed swimming pool.
  • An Astroturf sports pitch (to play tennis, basketball or football).
  • A massive boat house.
  • A floating jetty.
  • A large dance-hall.
  • A fully-equipped cinema.
  • A gymnasium with games room.
  • A helicopter pad.
The main residence at the Inish Turk Beg Island has seven spacious bedrooms, and can comfortably house around 30 guests. Electricity and water comes directly from the mainland. Broadband internet facility is also available on this Irish private island. Nadim Sadek had purchased this private island after selling his market research business, and it is sad to see him having to sell the island too, to recover financial losses.

The Inish Turk Beg Island has been voted as the best place to live in Ireland. It is protected from the strong westerly winds by the other islands in the Clew Bay area, and is situated a short boat trip away from the city of Westport. So, I’d say it’s a good buy!
