The world’s most expensive pie is a traditional steak pie created in 2006, by a chef at a restaurant in the north-western area of England. The total cost of this steak pie is $15,900, while if you just want a single slice, you’ll have to pay $1,990.
World's most expensive steak pie
This expensive pie is just like the locally-served British steak and mushroom pies, except it has some of the most costly variants of the common ingredients used. Instead of local beef, the pie has costly Wagyu beef fillet from rare Japanese cows. Instead of local mushrooms, the chef has added rare Chinese matsutake mushrooms worth $3,330 and black truffles.
The world’s most expensive pie is decorated with gold leaf, and is served with two bottles of 1982 Chateau Mouton Rothschild, which costs $4,200 per bottle. Each Wagyu beef pie serves about eight people. If you buy just one slice of it for $1,990, you will also be served a glass of champagne (the same 1982 Chateau Mouton Rothschild wine).
What do you think of the world’s most expensive pie? Would you like a taste?
