A beautiful Herschell-Spillman carousel made in 1918 is to be auctioned for the price of $250,000 to $500,000. This carousel or merry-go-round is believed to have been operated on weekends at Florida’s Big Top Market, for around ten years. It has been restored and repaired by its owner, and is currently in working order.
Vintage American carousel from 1918
On this vintage American carousel are sixteen antique Alan Herschelle jumping horses, all made from wood. These wooden horses were all made in the early 20th century, 1920 to be exact. There are also six jumping baby-sized cartoon figures, two spinning tubs, two carved chariots and two animals abreast with 14 sweeps.
