Here is what the world’s most expensive club sandwich looks like. Club sandwiches have been a restaurant staple since the 19th century, when they were first presented to the public. Now, English chef James Parkinson, has created the world’s most expensive club sandwich for the Cliveden House Hotel, near London in the UK.

The costliest club sandwich in the world

This club sandwich is named the von Essen Platinum club sandwich, and is priced at a whopping $197, for a single sandwich. Some of the expensive ingredients in the world’s costliest club sandwich are:
  • Iberico ham cured for about 30 months.
  • Quail eggs
  • White truffles
  • Semi-dried Italian tomatoes
The bread used in the von Essen Platinum club sandwich is made from 24-hour fermented sourdough bread. The sandwich is a three-decker sandwich, and weighs more than a pound.
