Covini C6W Spider - Six Wheeled Convertible

We first got a glimpse of this concept car model as a coupe four years ago, but now Ferruccio Covini has revamped his eccentric design with new features. This Covini C6W Spider convertible car has a sporty look and feel.

Furthermore the Audi V8 engine has been updated to produce 440ps. Other minor differences in the new 2009 Covini C6W Spider consist of slightly larger tires and new wheels. This mid-engined supercar is backed by a V8 engine capable of producing over 400 horsepower. The Spider convertible also has a six-speed manual gearbox and Brembo disc brakes.

A six wheeled car is useful in case of a front tyre deflation, low risk of aquaplaning, comfort and better handling for the vehicle. The four front disc brakes of a six wheeled car like the Covini C6W Spider also has a greater braking surface and ensures less overheating.

It is longitudinal, 8 cylinder in V formation. The engine of the Spider convertible has 4 valves per cylinder with petrol direct injection Bosch-motronic. The capacity of the engine is 4200 cc and the max power is 380 PS (260KW) at 6400 rpm with a maximum torque of around 450 Nm (45.9 Kgm) at 2700 rpm.

From 2009 onwards Covini hope to start production of the Covini C6W Spider up to a limit of 6 units per year.
