John Lennon’s Hollywood Hills Home For Sale

Located in the Hollywood Hills area of Los Angeles, California, John Lennon’s former residence has recently been listed for sale. John Lennon has always been a popular celebrity at auctions, and items belonging to him have always garnered high prices, whether a guitar, nude photos or a piece of tooth. While John Lennon’s former Hollywood Hills home is listed at US $4,500,000, it is expected to fetch a much higher amount mainly because of the interest generated by its ‘John Lennon’ tag.

Features of John Lennon’s Hollywood Hills Villa

John Lennon’s Hollywood Hills home in Los Angeles is situated in a neighbourhood that is packed with other celebrity homes. Some of these celebrities include Courtney Cox, Tobey McGuire, Keanu Reeves and producer Simon Fuller.

Built in the 1960’s, John Lennon’s California mansion is a fine example of architectural brilliance, and has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a master suite, a luxury den, a spa, and a step-down living-cum-dining room. Other features of this Los Angeles villa include a bath with a steam shower, and a gourmet kitchen with custom cabinets, marble kitchen countertops and stainless steel appliances. It also has a huge closet with multiple shoe racks, storage shelves and chest of drawers.

The villa also has an expansive 13,295 square-foot garden that overlooks the city of Los Angeles. This garden contains a pool with a fountain, a grassy yard and a private walking path. John Lennon began staying at this Hollywood Hills villa in the mid-seventies, and composed many songs there. However, this is not the first time that this plush California residence has been sold. According to records, John Lennon’s Hollywood Hills mansion was previously sold for around $4,950,000 in 2006.

The announcement of the sale of John Lennon’s Hollywood Hills house comes a few months after the Government declared that they wanted to preserve the childhood homes of Paul McCartney and John Lennon, both former members of the musical band ‘The Beatles’. These homes will be granted grade 2 listing, which means that they cannot be modified without the owner taking the required permission from Government authorities. Are you a fan of John Lennon or The Beatles? Would you consider buying John Lennon's former home in California?
