Most Expensive New York City Penthouse - David Geffen’s $54M Home

The most expensive penthouse in New York City is David Geffen’s $54 million home, which he purchased in November 2012. This luxurious penthouse previously belonged to Denise Rich, the ex-wife of Marc Rich, the pardoned billionaire Wall Street trader. While Denise Rich had listed this New York penthouse for a whopping $65 million in January 2012, the home was finally bought for the much lower price of $54 million.

David Geffen is a music and movie executive, with a net worth of $5.6 billion. He established and owns a vast Hollywood-based empire, which includes Geffen Records and Dreamworks. His new New York penthouse measures about 12,000-square feet, and is located in the Parc Cinc Cooperative building on 785 Fifth Avenue, near Central Park. You can see Central Park from the windows and terraces of this penthouse.

David Geffen’s duplex penthouse in New York City occupies the top two floors of the ultra-elite Parc Cinq Cooperative building. It has ceilings that are 11 feet high, seven bedrooms, eleven bathrooms, three kitchens, three terraces, staff quarters, a library with wood panelling, and a wet bar. All doors are made from custom mahogany wood.

Co-incidentally, music moghul David Geffen already owns another apartment in the same New York city building, which is located right below the duplex penthouse.
