Eli and Edythe Broad are owners of one of the foremost contemporary art collections in the world. Eli Broad is an American businessman, philanthropist and fervent art collector, and together with his wife Edythe, manages the Broad Art Foundation. This foundation was established to encourage public appreciation for contemporary art, and is a top store-house of contemporary art work and paintings.

Most of the paintings in the Eli and Edyth Broad art collection are displayed in the ‘Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum’ (of Michigan State University), which is run by the Broad Art Foundation. In fact, the Broad contemporary art collection consists of more than 2000 pieces of art (including paintings and sculptures), created by more than 200 artists. These artworks were mainly produced in the 60s and 70s, and are hence known as contemporary art.
